StockTap TV Pub bingo

Pub bingo without the paper, the shouting or the arguments

Bingo is a cracking way to fill a quiz break or a quiet hour, until somebody mishears 66, three tables claim the same line and you're checking tickets by torchlight. With StockTap TV the tickets are on their phones, the numbers and calls go up on every TV, and every line and full house is checked for you.

Free for your customers to play. Included in £34 a month for the whole pub.

What goes wrong with pub bingo

  1. Printing and handing out tickets

Dabbers, pens and a pile of paper that ends up in the pint glasses.

  2. The back can't hear the caller

"Was that 13 or 30?" every other number.

  3. Arguments over who won

Checking a ticket in front of the whole pub isn't anyone's idea of fun.

  4. Not sure what's allowed with prizes

Fair worry. There are rules, and we point you to them below.

Phone bingo: tickets on phones, numbers on every TV

Customers scan the QR and get their tickets on their phone, up to three each. As each number is called it goes up big on every TV, and it lights up on their ticket to mark. When a line or a full house comes in, it's checked automatically and the winner's name goes on the screens.

No paper, no dabbers, no checking tickets by hand. Run a few games back to back at the quiz break, then the screens go back to your offers.

Phone bingo: numbers called on every TV, tickets marked on phones and BINGO on the screens when a line is full

Pop Bingo: music bingo with artists instead of numbers

Teams play on their phones. You tap the artist as each song plays and every line and full house goes up on the TVs. It uses your own licensed music, so you'll need the usual music licence for playing music in the pub.

How to run a music bingo night people come back for

Pop Bingo: artist names on phone tickets, the landlord taps each artist and the lines go up on the TVs

Prizes and the rules: the honest bit

Free to play, just for fun: that's how StockTap TV bingo is set up. Nobody pays to play.

Want to give prizes? Bingo with prizes in a pub comes under the Gambling Commission's rules on what you can charge and what you can give away. This isn't legal advice. Read the Commission's guide on how to run a game of bingo and their page on exempt gaming in pubs, and talk to your local licensing team before you start.

Pub bingo questions

Do customers need an app for phone bingo?

No. They scan the QR code and play in their phone's web browser. Nothing to download.

How many tickets can each phone have?

Up to three tickets a phone, which keeps it fair between the person with one ticket and the table with ten.

Is it extra on top of the monthly price?

No. Phone bingo and Pop Bingo are both in the £34 a month, with every other feature.

Can I run it at the quiz break?

Yes, that's how we use it at Teal Farm. A few quick games while the answers are being marked. Bingo at the quiz break, without the arguments.
